After a humiliating Week 15 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Green Bay Packers are on the outside looking in when it comes to the NFC playoff scenario. Even after their loss to the New York Giants on Monday night, fans were confident that the squad would rebound.
That turned out not to be the case. Baker Mayfield’s offense scored 34 points on the Packers’ defense at Lambeau Field. Following the game, one defensive star appeared to have deleted practically everything relating to the squad from his social media.
Following the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers removed most Packers contests from his social media.
Following Sunday’s loss, fans noticed that top cornerback Jaire Alexander’s Instagram account had changed:
Alexander’s Instagram isn’t entirely devoid of Packers imagery; his profile picture and most recent post both show him in a Packers uniform. However, his Instagram account currently has only two posts, which is much fewer than what it had yesterday. Including several Packers-related posts.
Jaire Alexander’s Situation Is Strange
Alexander suffered a shoulder injury on November 5th while diving for a tipped ball against the Los Angeles Rams. In addition to being sidelined for the last five games, he did not go with the club to New York to face the Giants.
The “weird” part is that Alexander was never placed on injured reserve (IR). That would have meant a four-game suspension. A player on IR does not count toward the active roster.
Jaire was clearly never placed on IR since they expected him to return before the four-week mark. All of this, combined with Alexander’s odd comments during his interviews, has many wondering if he wants to be back on the field with the squad this year. That is a serious charge, and Alexander has never declared that he does not want to play for the Green Bay Packers.
Hopefully, Alexander will be able to return to the field soon, and all of this will be history.
