The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly made a defensive coaching change before of their Week 15 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The change occurred after the Eagles had given up 33 points or more in their previous three games. In Week 13, the Eagles allowed 42 points to the San Francisco 49ers. Last week, the Eagles allowed 33 points to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Philadelphia Eagles change their head coach.
According to Fox Sports, the Eagles’ defense is ranked 22nd following Week 14. Before the Eagles continue to hemorrhage this season, head coach Nick Sirianni made a change. According to the NFL Network, Matt Patricia will call plays, and defensive coordinator Sean Desai will take the bench:
“As the Philadelphia Eagles look for answers to their struggling defense, senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia will play a larger role.”
According to people familiar with the issue, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said Sunday on NFL GameDay Morning that Patricia will be on the sideline calling plays into the green dot player beginning Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
According to Rapoport, defensive coordinator Sean Desai will return to the coaching booth, where he previously called plays while with the Bears, in 2021.”
This season, the Seahawks are ranked 19th in offensive scoring. They score 21.5 points each game on average. This should be a terrific litmus test for the Eagles to see if the coaching change has any effect.
