The Aston Villa star’s worth has surpassed £100 million, with Emery sure that no one can afford him.

Douglas Luiz is reportedly valued at £100 million by Aston Villa, but Unai Emery is ‘adamant’ that the club will reject ‘any offer’ for him in January. Luiz has been one of the most impressive players not only at Villa, but in the Premier League this season, with five league goals and four assists.

Luiz’s greatest combined goal and assist total in a season was 12 in the previous season. Given that it’s almost nine and we’re not quite halfway through, it appears likely that he’ll break his record.

That will be extremely beneficial to Villa, who are presently third in the league as a result of his form.

But they aren’t the only ones who want Luiz to play for them.

According to recent reports, second-placed Arsenal is dead set on capturing the Brazilian. At the time, it was expected that Villa would demand £80 million for his services.

That’s a far cry from the £25 million Arsenal bid for Luiz last summer, when they made two efforts to sign him.

Luiz’s worth has risen over £100 million.
However, with the Villa star continuing to perform admirably, the club’s expectations have risen.

According to Football Insider, Emery’s team is ‘adamant’ that Luiz will not be sold and will reject ‘any bids’ that come in for him in January.

This includes bids of £100 million or more, as the Villans regard Luiz as a “£100 million-plus player.”

That worth is influenced in part by his form, with Villa believing he is now on the same level as Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez, all of whom were sold for more than £100 million in the last year.

Indeed, Emery’s camp believes Luiz is ‘too vital to let go’ and believes there is no offer that anyone can pay that would compel them to sell.

Arsenal and Manchester City are up against it.
It will now be fascinating to see if Arsenal is still interested in signing Luiz, as previously stated.

They appeared to be willing to spend £80 million on the Brazilian, but they may not try their luck if they believe there is no wiggle room even if they make an offer exceeding £100 million.

The fresh rumor also mentions Luiz drawing interest from his old club Manchester City.

They are a highly wealthy club, and they may be able to spend more than £100 million. They already paid in that range to Villa when they signed Jack Grealish in 2021.

However, that funded the signings of some star players that meant Villa are now genuine challengers. They don’t need the money anymore, and it seems they’ll stand firm, with Luiz more important than the money he’d bring.
