Packers RB Aaron Jones gives Green Bay fans cause for optimism as they attempt to recover against the Buccaneers.

Aaron Jones, a star running back for the Green Bay Packers, hasn’t been available since mid-November.

To be honest, they haven’t had Jones for the majority of the season. During a lengthy touchdown catch-and-run in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, he strained his hamstring, missing several games as a result. Then, on November 19 against the Los Angeles Chargers, a few weeks later, he sustained an MCL injury.

The following three games were played by the Packers without him. While they did go 2-1 during that time, their one loss came against the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football,” which was disheartening.

However, Jones did provide the Packers with some encouraging news as they looked to recover from that setback and maybe make a postseason run. He recently hinted in an interview with the media that he would play this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“I feel so much better now. At practice today, I was allowed to move around. I’m going to approach things day by day, but I feel confident for Sunday,” Jones stated on Thursday, as reported by beat writer Wes Hodiewicz.

Fantasy Injury Update: Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Travis Etienne Jr. Impacting Week 15 Rankings
Should this prove to be true, the timing couldn’t be better for this inexperienced Packers squad.

They have to recover from the heartbreaking defeat to the Giants, but they also need depth at running back. Since breaking his thumb against the New York Giants, AJ Dillon, who has been starting in Jones’ place, is doubtful to play against the Bucs.

With just 53 career runs, third-string running back Patrick Taylor is a mere practice squad player, while his backup, nine-year NFL veteran Kenyan Drake, is barely visible on the field.

The Packers really need Jones back and healthy.
