“Come on now. You all know I’m a big troll who enjoys having a good time. I’m not offended in the least. It was a good joke, in my opinion. But I had a very solid game… Of all days to throw the trash can out there when I had a near-perfect game, I coulda made more plays. But ultimately, the game was amazing for me, but as a team, we ain’t played worth a s**t,” Darius Slay stated on Friday’s Big Play Slay Podcast.

Slay cited his performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday as the reason why Philadelphia Eagles fans are targeting him during the team’s troubles. Slay recorded four tackles and three passes defensed in the Cowboys’ Week 14 loss. However, Eagles supporters soon questioned Slay’s remarks, particularly his lack of leadership on Friday.

Philadelphia is on a two-game losing streak.
The Eagles, last season’s NFC champions, have lost both of their games to begin the month of December. Over that time, the Eagles have been outscored 75 to 32 and are coming off a 33-13 away loss to rival Dallas. Dak Prescott threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns for the Cowboys, while Tony Pollard and Rico Dowdle combined for 105 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, for the first time this season, quarterback Jalen Hurts was held scoreless. He finished with 197 throwing yards and only 30 rushing yards. Prescott has since surpassed Hurts in terms of MVP odds.
