On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love were punched in the face and were unable to respond. The Lions took the lead early and never looked back. At halftime, the scoreboard at Lambeau Field read 27-3, not in favor of the good guys.
Jordan Love experienced ups and downs throughout the game. On 36 attempts, he completed 23 of them. He completed 246 passes for 246 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also had one rushing touchdown. Jordan Love was mentioned by head coach Matt LaFleur after the game.
After the Green Bay Packers’ loss to the Detroit Lions, head coach Mike McCarthy spoke with Jordan Love.
Love shone brightly at times during the Packers’ loss to the Lions. Some of his throws went viral on Twitter, including:
Despite the loss to the Lions, Love may have persuaded Colin Cowherd to reconsider. Though he didn’t consider Love to be elite, he couldn’t fault his performance:
“I believe Jordan Love is fine at this point.” Nothing that you can see… He’s not overwhelmed like Zach Wilson, he’s not consistently incorrect like Justin Fields, and there’s nothing here that would embarrass me. Some of this is because he needs snaps and games. He’s been inconsistent. Half good, half bad, half good, half bad. That’s a sign of a developing quarterback.”
The Packers are hoping to see enough of Jordan Love this season to convince them that he could be the next franchise quarterback. If Love demonstrates this, the Packers are likely to want to commit to him long-term.
