“Yeah, listen, (Lions’ general manager Brad Holmes) looked at all of it, we haven’t overlooked anybody,” Campbell was quoted as saying. “We looked at each other. We’ve made the decision we believe is best for us at this time.”

Suh has played for four different teams since leaving the Lions, including three different teams in four different seasons from 2018 to 2022. According to Terry Foster of the Detroit News, the Lions were concerned about Suh’s fit with the team’s current culture because he is a player who puts himself ahead of the team.

In the 2010 NFL Draft, the Lions selected Suh with their second-round pick (No. 2). Suh left the Lions in 2015 to join the Miami Dolphins on a six-year, $110 million contract. Since then, Suh has played for the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles. He has appeared in three Super Bowls, one of which he won with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
