The Michigan Wolverines have traded a defensive lineman recruit from USC.

Michigan’s Wolverines are already poking fun at their new Big Ten rivals. The USC Trojans will join the Big Ten in 2024, and the Wolverines have already swapped one of their recruits. Deyvid Palepale, a three-star defensive lineman, will now join the Ann Arbor team next fall.

Palepale is a defensive lineman from Pennsylvania who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 305 pounds. Despite being a three-star recruit, he has drawn interest from a number of programs. He committed to USC in July, but later changed his mind and chose Michigan. It’s easy to see why. In recent seasons, Michigan has had some of the best defensive lines in college football. USC’s defense is undergoing a change of guard, and it is unclear whether this played a role in the flip.

Matchup for Next Year
These two teams are scheduled to meet in 2024. The Trojans will make their Big Ten debut at The Big House. This is just one of many difficult games on the Wolverines’ schedule for next season. In week two, the Texas Longhorns visit Ann Arbor. The Wolverines will then face USC, Washington, Oregon, and, of course, Ohio State in Big Ten play. Nobody will claim that Michigan has a cupcake schedule next year.
