Hannah Cain of Leicester City will miss the rest of the season after suffering another Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
Cain’s injury was announced earlier today by the Foxes via their official club media channels.
Cain was injured while on international duty with Wales, according to reports. The player was notably absent as Gemma Grainger’s side lost 2-1 to Iceland in the UEFA Women’s Nations League last night in Cardiff.
Cain is no stranger to Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries; the player has previously suffered from the same injury. Cain ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in Wales’ November 2021 camp, sidelining her for just over a year.
The forward’s latest injury occurs at a time when competition for positions at Leicester City is fiercer than ever. Cain has impressed for The Foxes this season, but she has only started four of her eight league games. The player will have to support the team’s development from the sidelines for the rest of the season.
After the international break, Leicester City will resume their campaign with a Barclays Women’s Super League match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Broadfield Stadium on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
