The NFL released the results of the first week of Pro Bowl voting for 2024 on Wednesday, and several Detroit Lions are in the running at various positions. While no Lions are in the top ten in overall voting, and no one is ranked first at their position, seven Lions players are currently ranked in the top ten in voting at their position.

Let’s take a look at each of the players near the top of their respective positions.

Jared Goff is ranked ninth among quarterbacks.
Jared Goff is having a good season, though he has slowed a little since he got hot. Goff is currently fourth in yards (3,288), tied for eighth in touchdown passes (20), eighth in passer rating (98.1), and tenth in QBR (60.4).

Tua Tagovailoa, C.J. Stroud, Dak Prescott, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen are the quarterbacks ahead of Goff in order.

Amon-Ra St. Brown — 4th among WRs St. Brown is on his way to his second Pro Bowl in a row. He is currently sixth in receptions (84), sixth in receiving yards (1,042), and 12th in touchdowns (six).

Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, and A.J. Brown are the only three receivers who have received more Pro Bowl votes than St. Brown.

Sam LaPorta is ranked fourth among tight ends.

Lions rookie Sam LaPorta is having a memorable rookie season. He’s already broken several franchise rookie records and is closing in on the NFL rookie tight end receiving record. LaPorta currently has 679 receiving yards (fourth among tight ends) and Mike Ditka holds the rookie record for tight ends with 1,076 yards. To catch Ditka, LaPorta must average 79.4 yards per game.

Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and T.J. Hockenson are the three tight ends ahead of LaPorta in Pro Bowl voting.

Penei Sewell is ranked fourth among OTs.
Sewell is having a potentially All-Pro season. He just allowed his first sack of the season, and he is PFF’s top offensive tackle by overall grade (90.0).

Unfortunately for Sewell, the three offensive tackles ahead of him in Pro Bowl voting — Trent Williams, Lane Johnson, and Tyree Smith — are all from the NFC, complicating his bid for a second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance.

Frank Ragnow is ranked fourth among C
Ragnow has been battling injury after injury this season, but he is still having a fantastic season. Ragnow has the third highest overall grade (84.2) in the NFL, according to PFF. He’s helped the Lions’ running game, which is currently fourth in yards per game (137.3) and yards per carry (4.6).

Ragnow is outvoted by Jason Kelce, Creed Humphrey, and Tyler Linderbaum.

Aidan Hutchinson is ranked seventh among defensive ends.

Hutchinson has “only” 5.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and an interception this season. However, he has consistently produced pressures. He ranks sixth among edge defenders in overall grade and third in pressures, according to PFF.

Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, Nick Bosa, Khalil Mack, Trey Hendrickson, and Chase Young are the six edge defenders with the most Pro Bowl votes.

It’s worth noting that the NFL has a separate category for outside linebackers, so players like T.J. Watt, Micah Parsons, Josh Allen, and Danielle Hunter are eligible for Pro Bowl voting in a different category.

Jake McQuaide is ranked tenth among long snappers.

Jake McQuaide has only appeared in four games for the Lions, filling in for Scott Daly after he was injured. McQuaide has already made the Pro Bowl twice in his career, so a third would be fantastic.

Alim McNeill, David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, Graham Glasgow, and Alex Anzalone are among the notable Lions players who did not make the Pro Bowl.
