Derrick Henry, Jeffery Simmons, and Ryan Stonehouse were all injured in the Tennessee Titans’ overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts yesterday. Earlier in the day, Adam Schefter reported that Henry was in the concussion protocol. According to Vrabel, Henry is not in concussion protocol. He was taken out of the game due to a concussion, but he was reporting no symptoms today. They will keep an eye on him throughout the week, but he appears to have a good chance of playing on Monday night.
Jeffery Simmons is not one of them. While he appears to have avoided a season-ending knee injury, he will be out for a few weeks, according to Vrabel. They’ll really miss him on Monday night, when putting pressure on Tua Tagovailoa is critical. With the season nearly over, Simmons should be in no hurry to return and play before he is fully recovered.
Ryan Stonehouse has finished his season. Vrabel did not specify the nature of his injury, only that he will undergo surgery. That means the Titans will have to bring in a punter this week. That person will also be in charge of field goals and extra points. I’m curious if Brett Kern has stayed in football shape.
