In 2023, the Minnesota Vikings had a roller coaster season. After starting the season 0-3, they have recovered to finish the season 6-6. Following Kirk Cousins’ Achilles injury, the team turned to Josh Dobbs, who took the team by storm. He won some big games to extend his winning streak. However, following an abysmal performance against the Bears on Monday Night Football, some questioned whether the team would make a change. Head coach Kevin O’Connell stated that Dobbs would be retained.
For Week 14, the Minnesota Vikings will stick with Josh Dobbs.
For the time being, Dobbs will be the starter. The only other quarterbacks on the roster are Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall, and I doubt they are light years better than Dobbs. The loss to the Bears could have been a fluke, which is what O’Connell is hoping for. Minnesota needs a big win on the road in Las Vegas if they want to keep their playoff spot.
Can Minnesota Make the Playoffs?
The Vikings are currently in sixth place in the NFC. At this point, it appears that the final two playoff spots will be decided by a four-team battle. The Packers, Rams, and Seahawks are all contenders. Teams like the Bears and Buccaneers could also make a splash if they go on a winning streak. What is the bad news for the Vikings? Two of their final three games are against the division-leading Detroit Lions, and they also have a game against the Packers, which could be a playoff game. They rely on Dobbs to rebound and win this game against the Raiders.
Will Josh Dobbs continue the Cinderella story, or has it come to an end? The Minnesota Vikings are hoping to keep the magic going and make the playoffs.
