Last Sunday’s epic Week 13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs made a statement for the Green Bay Packers. Matt LaFleur, on the other hand, does not want his team to become complacent after defeating the reigning champions.
After all, as LaFleur stated, the Packers still have a lot of work to do before they can be considered legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
LaFleur opened up about the Packers’ 27-19 victory over the Chiefs in a one-on-one interview with Packers reporter Larry McCarren. While the veteran head coach praised his quad’s performance, calling it a “great team win,” he stressed that the season does not end there.
“That was a fantastic team victory.” Obviously, each face had a significant impact on the game. We’re so proud of our guys. “I feel like we’re coming together as a football team, and we’re getting better and better and better,” LaFleur said of the Packers’ win over the Chiefs.
“But we have to keep proving it because it’s only one game.” That is a fantastic football team. “I have a lot of respect for their coaches and players,” said the Packers coach.
Back-to-back Statement Victories for the Packers
The Packers are currently on a three-game winning streak, and while they are only 6-6 on the season, there are numerous reasons to believe that they are on the rise.
Aside from their outstanding performance against the Chiefs, in which Jordan Love threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns to outperform Patrick Mahomes, they also defeated the Detroit Lions in their previous meeting in Week 13. That means the Packers have now defeated both the top teams in their respective divisions.
With five games remaining in the 2023 season, the Packers have little room for error. They are still in contention for an NFC Wild Card berth, but winning the division isn’t out of the question if they win their next few games.
For the time being, the Packers can only focus on one game at a time. In Week 14, they face the New York Giants, who should provide an opportunity for the team to extend its winning streak.
