Enzo Maresca, manager of Leicester City, hopes to stay at the club for at least three or four years. The 43-year-old revealed this during a question-and-answer session with fans at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening.
He discussed what he hopes to accomplish in that time, as well as academy players and Claudio Ranieri. Local online publication The event was attended by Cool As Leicester, who were also supported by Leicester City Women’s manager Willie Kirk. “Really good evening at the fan Q&A with Enzo and Willie,” they wrote on X. “Enzo says he’s only thinking about promotion right now, not beyond, but he hopes to stay at the club for at least 3-4 years to build something special.” When he arrived, he made it abundantly clear that he would only work with players who genuinely wanted to be here.
“He emphasized the significance of the environment. ‘The team can smell the crowd, and we need that big atmosphere,’ says the coach.
“One of the first people to contact Enzo when he got the job was Claudio,” they added. He described himself as a nice man who supports Leicester City and told him what a special place it is.”
Maresca also stated that the club is “very lucky to have great academy players,” but that the youngsters must “work doubly hard” to make the first team.
