On Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in their biggest win of the season. The Packers’ 27-19 victory brought them back to.500 on the season, and if the season ended today, they’d be in the playoffs. The Packers’ star wide receiver Christian Watson suffered yet another hamstring injury in the final moments of Sunday’s victory. The length of Watson’s absence will be determined over the next few weeks, but the team has a good idea.
The Packers’ final five games have a favorable schedule. The New York Giants (4-8), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7), Carolina Panthers (1-11), Minnesota Vikings (6-6) and Chicago Bears (4-8) are among the teams on the list. Although no game in the NFL is guaranteed, the Packers may be able to cope with Watson’s absence.
Christian Watson, the Green Bay Packers’ star wide receiver, has received good news regarding the timeline for his potential return.
Doctor of Physical Therapy Edwin Porras says:
According to reports from Green Bay, Christian Watson’s injury may not be too serious.
Since 2018, wide receivers who re-injure their hamstring have missed an average of 1.7 games. The average is two games. The Packers are also known for their conservatism.
Love pitched an end-around to Watson with less than three minutes remaining in the game. Watson then rounded the corner and gained 10 yards to the Chiefs’ 34-yard line. Watson, on the other hand, stumbled and fell before coming into contact with anyone dressed in white. He’d have to be helped off the field while holding onto his leg.
Watson had previously delivered an outstanding performance. His seven catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns cemented his position as the team’s leading receiver and bolstered his relationship with Love.
On Thanksgiving Day, Watson had five catches for 94 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions.Watson missed the first three weeks of the season and struggled to get into a rhythm when he returned. Watson’s hamstrings have been a persistent problem throughout his young career.
What Does This Mean for the Packers in the Coming Season?
The Packers’ next three opponents are the Giants, the Buccaneers, and the Panthers. The combined record of those three teams is 9-26. However, Tampa Bay is still very much in contention for the NFC South title, as the Falcons are currently in first place at 6-6.
If the Packers play it safe and keep Watson out until the final two games (against the Vikings and the Bears), Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs will be called upon to step up.
