The Miami Dolphins activated Chris Brooks from injured reserve on Wednesday, but he won’t be ready for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders. He has been ruled out for Week 13 by Miami.

Brooks injured his ankle in Miami’s Week 6 victory over the Carolina Panthers. In two appearances this season, he has carried the ball 15 times for 94 yards, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.

Miami ranks second in the league with 145.2 rushing yards per game, trailing only the Baltimore Ravens, who are led by starting running back Raheem Mostert, who leads the league with 13 rushing touchdowns. Brooks may be unable to return, but reinforcements are on their way.

“He’s playing,” said coach Mike McDaniel of rookie De’Von Achane on Friday.

Three Reasons Why The Dolphins Will Defeat The Commanders In Week 13 – 2023

Yes, the Miami Dolphins currently lead the American Football Conference. You are not dreaming.

Despite some key losses around the league, the Dolphins’ 45-15 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 12 was enough to reclaim the AFC’s top seed. Let’s get started, you know the drill.

Reason 1: Distribute the Football

This season, the Dolphins have frequently relied on a single player to carry them to victory. That was Tyreek Hill in Week 1. That was Raheem Mostert in Week 2. That was De’Von Achane in Week 3, and so on and so forth.

Week 13 was an exception. Tyreek Hill had five catches, while Jaylen Waddle had five. Raheem Mostert had 11 carries and De’Von Achane had 17. The Dolphins spread the ball around on offense for the first time this season, making it difficult for the Commanders to adjust to Miami’s gameplan. Tua Tagovailoa, as usual, was lethal accurate, completing 18/24 pass attempts (75%) for 280 yards and two touchdowns, resembling a prime Steve Nash in the process.

Reason 2: Victory in the Trenches

Football games are won in the trenches, as the old adage goes, and the Dolphins won that battle on Sunday. On offense, there were no sacks and three on defense.

Miami managed an insane 11.3 yards per pass on offense as a result of their stellar play up front, giving Tua time to survey the field and deliver a strike downfield. On the other hand, Commanders quarterback Sam Howell was “seeing ghosts” and managed only 107 passing yards (4.3 yards per pass) in the game. Miami dominated the trenches in Week 13, which contributed to their victory.

Reason 3: Throughout the game, I remained aggressive.

The Dolphins raced out to a 24-7 lead against the Commanders midway through the second quarter. However, they did not let up, and made it a 31-7 game heading into the second half. But hold on, there’s more! The Dolphins maintained their lead in the second half, scoring two more touchdowns to make the score 45-15.

Look, the Commanders coming back from a 17-point deficit in the second half is unlikely, but stranger things have happened. The Dolphins played it safe and tried to put the game out of reach as soon as possible.
