Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United has issued a warning to Leicester City and Ipswich Town by declaring his team’s automatic promotion mindset.

Despite Daniel Farke’s third-placed Whites closing the gap, Leicester and second-placed Ipswich remain clear in the Championship’s two automatic promotion places.

Summmerville, on the other hand, has warned of the dangers of paying too much attention to the fortunes of the Foxes and Tractor Boys in the race for automatic promotion back to the top flight.

Summerville has also mentioned a threat from a team below his Whites in emphasizing the importance of beating last weekend’s visitors Middlesbrough in order to close the gap on the 12th-placed Riversiders.

Leeds won 3-2 against Middlesbrough thanks to goals from Summerville, Dan James, and a Joel Piroe penalty, but the division’s top four all won, leaving the Whites seven points behind Ipswich, eight points behind Leicester, and just one point ahead of fourth-placed Southampton.

When asked how much Leeds looked at the top of the table, Summerville told LUTV, “We knew this game was very important so the gap between us and Middlesbrough would be bigger.” But, as everyone and the coach told us, we didn’t have to look at others; we just had to stick to our own plan.

“Of course, if we keep winning games, we’ll be promoted.” Leicester and Ipswich are also doing well, so if we look at them, we lose focus on the game, so we have to keep looking at ourselves.”
