The Packers’ season is literally hanging by a thread. Until this season, head coach Matt LaFleur’s Packers had never lost back-to-back games. They are currently on a three-game losing streak. What the coach says after a loss is important, and LaFleur’s comments have been predictable. Matt LaFleur made the same old uninspiring comments following the loss.

Matt LaFleur Makes the Same Old Boring Remarks

My friends and I used to make a bingo card of what we thought the pastor would say before church when we were kids. We discovered that he was fairly predictable, and that we could accurately choose certain phrases based on previous evidence. This is the impression I have of Matt LaFleur. “It’s not good enough” and “We’ve got to play better” have been repeated to fans for three weeks. You could tell me Matt LaFleur said these things and I’d have no idea what week it was. It’s all words with no action. With these remarks, Lafleur comes across as uninspiring at this point.

LaFleur’s Attitude is Reflected in the Team
When I watch sports, I pay attention to the team’s body language. This team’s body language is uninspiring. They simply lack energy, which is reflected in their postgame comments. Anyone who watched the game believes the coaching and play could be improved. I’d like to see LaFleur energized! Identify some people! Display some zeal! Perhaps expressing emotion would help the team respond differently. Try something different than the same old comments at this point.

It’s difficult to imagine Matt LaFleur being fired this season. He recently signed an extension. Despite the three-game losing streak, his winning percentage remains historic. It would be foolish to give him no credit for the last three years. However, when a person loses, you often learn more about them than when they win. During this losing streak, we’re learning a lot about LaFleur. As of now, we know he is a person who fights little and follows the same old uninspiring script. Next week’s game against Buffalo will be difficult. This week will be a busy one for LaFleur as they make the necessary adjustments. If they don’t, expect similar comments in a week.
