Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca discusses inverted full-backs in this fascinating Coaches’ Voice Masterclass.

Maresca is regarded as one of the best coaches in modern football. He led Leicester to the top of the Championship in the early part of the 2023/24 season, putting them in a strong position to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

His teams have a reputation for dominating games thanks to his progressive coaching style, particularly in positional play.

He used an inverted full-back at Leicester, as well as previously as head coach of Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad and with Parma. He also worked alongside Pep Guardiola during Manchester City’s treble-winning season, when the concept of a player from the back line moving into midfield was used.
