David Bakhtiari and the Green Bay Packers have had an interesting last few seasons together. Bakhtiari’s torn ACL in December of 2020 has had far-reaching consequences for his career that no one anticipated. Bakhtiari will have played just one game in two of the last three seasons (2021 and 2023) due to the ACL tear. Bakhtiari appeared in 11 games in 2022, but his season was cut short due to knee issues.

Many assumed this would be Bakhtiari’s final season in Green Bay. His salary cap hit, combined with the number of games he’s missed over the last three seasons, made it appear nearly impossible. That could be incorrect.

Green Bay Packers Prominent Left Tackle According to David Bakhtiari, the plan is to remain in Green Bay.

Robin Adams of Wisconsin Sports Heroics broke the news to us first:

David Bakhtiari: An emerging star for the Green Bay Packers

Bakhtiari demonstrated in Week One that he is still one of the best left tackles in the NFL. In his absence, neither Rasheed Walker nor Yosh Nijman have been able to secure the position permanently.

As a result, it appears that Green Bay will not pursue either player at the position. Nijman will be a free agent anyway, and Walker may require more playing time. Who better to learn from than one of the best Packers tackles in history?

That appears to be Bakhtiari’s intention:
