Harry Winks says it was incredible to score the winning goal in front of the Leicester City fans at the Hawthorns.
Leicester City defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. After breaking the deadlock on 72 minutes, Enzo Maresca’s side left it late to claim the three points.
Wilfred Ndidi crossed the ball inside the box to assist Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, and Josh Maja scored his first goal for the Baggies shortly after. Despite the fact that Albion were looking for a late winner, Leicester took advantage of a counter-attack when Dewsbury-Hall rolled the ball across the box for Winks to tap in.

After the game, Winks told Sky Sports, “No [didn’t expect it], I don’t normally score!” It’s an incredible feeling to win it right at the end in front of the fans. I can see why strikers enjoy it so much. Yeah, there was a lot of doubt about whether it would go in. I believe I hit it with my heel or something.
“As soon as it came off my boot, I thought to myself, ‘Oh no, it’s going wide here.'” We’ve worked hard on keeping our cool in the final third and being less selfish in front of goal. It was brilliant for Kiernan to get his head up there and make the pass for me to finish.
“It’s an incredible feeling to score the game-winning goal in the final minute or so.” It was fantastic. I enjoyed the game as well; it was a difficult game, and winning it was brilliant. They were determined to defeat us from the start. Teams give us that extra 5%, and we need to keep finding new ways to win games.”
