According to transfermarkt, who is in Leicester City’s most valuable 11?

Many people were surprised when Leicester City was relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season. Despite being in the Championship, they’ve managed to keep many of their most talented players and add others.

Enzo Maresca was appointed manager of the club in the summer, as the club sought to rebuild and refocus following the previous season. Maresca served as Man City’s assistant manager from 2022 to 2023, in addition to other roles at the club.

He has implemented his style on the club since taking control, and they have grown from strength to strength.

The Foxes appear set to return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

With a squad brimming with talent, we’ve used Transfermarkt valuations to construct Leicester City’s most valuable 11.

Mads Hermansen, goalkeeper, £6.1 million

One reason for their poor performance last season was their inability to replace Kasper Schmiechal after he left. He had been their long-term number one, so his departure came as a surprise.

This season, they signed Brondby’s Mads Hermansen. Hermansen, who is only 23 years old, is another Dane who the Foxes will be hoping can become another long-term number one.

RB – James Justin, £13.9 million

James Justin has been with Leicester since joining from Luton Town in 2019. Given his talent, there were doubts about his future when the Foxes were relegated, but he has stayed.

Justin has one England cap and, at 25, could earn more if Leicester is able to return to the Premier League.

He’s worth £13.9 million, and that figure will rise as he performs well in the Championship.

Wout Faes, CB, £17.4m

Wout Faes joined Leicester from Reims in 2022 and has been a part of the team ever since.

The Belgium international is the team’s second most valuable player and is arguably underperforming. He’ll be hoping that his dedication pays off and that the club returns to the Premier League next season.

Wilfred Ndidi, CB, £15.6m

Wilfred Ndidi is Faes’s partner. Ndidi has previously played in defense for Leicester, but he is best known as a defensive midfielder for the Foxes.

The Nigerian international has appeared in over 200 games for Leicester and was another player expected to leave following the club’s relegation.

His vast experience at the club and on the national stage will be crucial if Leicester are to reclaim their place in the Premier League.

LB – Callum Doyle, £13 million

Callum Doyle, on loan from Manchester City, is the other full back in Leicester’s most valuable 11. At the age of 20, he is worth £13 million.

Doyle is currently out with a knee injury that will keep him out until the end of January. The injury ended what had been a promising start to his Leicester loan, with him playing either left back or center back for the Foxes.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, CM, £26 million

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall is one of the league’s best players this season. The 25-year-old has been with the club since 2006, and thanks to two loan spells, he is now one of the first names on the team sheet.

He already has double digits in goals and assists, demonstrating his worth to the club. Keeping Dewsbury-Hall may turn out to be their most important acquisition this season.

Cesare Casadei, £10.4 million

Cesare Casadei, on loan from Chelsea, has made numerous appearances from the bench but is listed as one of the Foxes’ most valuable players.

He’s only 20 years old, but he has Championship experience thanks to a loan spell at Reading last season.

Casadei is a talented player who previously played for Inter Milan before joining Chelsea.

Ricardo Pereira, £8.7 million

Ricardo Pereira, the team’s oldest player, is valued at £8.7 million and remains an important member of the squad. He can play full-back or further forward if necessary.

Pereira has appeared in over 100 games for Leicester since joining from Porto. He impressed in his first season at the King Power, but was plagued by injuries during their relegation season.

Patson Daka, CAM, £13 million

Patson Daka, a Zambian, will relocate to Leicester in 2021. He is now worth just over £13 million.

Dropping to the Championship may have provided Daka with an opportunity to improve. Unfortunately, he has struggled to find game time. With January approaching, he could be considering a move away from the Foxes.

LM – Stephy Mavididi, £7.8 million

Stephy Mavididi, one of Leicester’s summer signings, joined from Montpellier after leaving England in 2018. Mavididi began his career with Arsenal before joining Juventus and spending time in Europe.

He has been in excellent form for Leicester since joining the club, providing an excellent attacking option.

Mavididi’s attacking threat will be critical as the season progresses.

Kelechi Iheanacho, ST, £15.6m

Kelechi Iheanacho, who joined the Foxes from Manchester City in search of first-team action, leads the line for Leicester. He left Manchester City with a positive reputation after appearing in 64 games and scoring 21 goals.

He has played over 200 games for the Foxes and scored over 60 goals. He’d like to have had a few more for the club, but at 27, he’s entering his prime.
