Everton faces more point deductions, but their punishment has shone a light on Chelsea and Manchester City, who may face reprimand from the Premier League.

Other clubs will be concerned, according to Sean Dyche, if Everton is docked points again for breaking more financial rules last season.

The club must submit their figures for 2022-23 by the end of the year, and any punishment can be imposed before the end of May. Chelsea and Manchester City may be dragged into the spotlight, and Dyche says other clubs may be investigated.

“I’ve not been told anything other than what we’ve heard so far,” Everton manager David Moyes said. “We were stunned – football was stunned – by the result of ten points.” Who knows what will happen next? Not just for us, but I’m sure for many others. It doesn’t appear to be just about us, based on the noise out there. Others will be considered in the future.”

Dyche insists he is not concerned about any further point deductions. “It’s more about the factual side of what’s happened,” he explained. The ten points are currently unavailable, so we must press on.”

City learned on Thursday that they will face a trial in autumn 2024 as they continue to fight the Premier League’s more than 100 alleged charges. It is understood that the highly confidential process is currently at the stage of taking statements from witnesses, which could last until next spring.

Despite the doubts, the champions have won the last three league titles and are aiming for an unprecedented fourth. Guardiola, on the other hand, insists that everyone wants them punished.

“We are innocent until guilt is proven,” he said last weekend. I know the people want it (punishment for the city). I’m aware of it. I’ll wait and see, and once the sentence is completed, we’ll come here and explain.”

Guardiola also stated that he would stay regardless of the outcome, despite previously stating that he would leave if the club, which maintains its innocence, lied to him. “Absolutely, I will not consider my future (if) it depends on whether I am here or in League One,” he said. We have a better chance of staying in League One than in the Champions League.”
