This season, the Green Bay Packers have had more than their fair share of serious injuries. David Bakhtiari’s season was cut short after just one game due to a knee injury.
Aaron Jones has been hampered by injuries all season, appearing in only seven of the team’s eleven games. Luke Musgrave, a rookie tight end, is on injured reserve with a lacerated kidney and could miss the rest of the season.

News from the Packers
These injuries are, of course, only a snapshot of the problems that have plagued Green Bay all season, and they do not include the numerous hamstring injuries that have affected multiple players.
Jayden Reed’s chest injury is one that fans are paying close attention to. Reed, a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, leads the Packers in receiving yards and is on pace to break Sterling Sharpe’s rookie reception record.
Reed has not participated in any practice this week as the Packers prepare to face the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jayden Reed, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, hopes to play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Reed sustained his injury during the Packers’ thrilling win over the Los Angeles Chargers at Lambeau Field. He didn’t practice either last week or the week before, but he was able to play against Detroit on Thanksgiving. He not only played last Thursday, but he also caught a touchdown.
Reed told Paul Bretl of PackersWire about his injury:
“I wouldn’t call it a setback. As I previously stated, I am simply taking things day by day. Trying to get it together and get out there on Sunday.
“That’s how I usually approach things. I only missed one game in my entire career. I’ve had a lot of injuries while playing. Just take each day as it comes. I understand that it’s just part of the package. I’m just taking care of my body and doing my best.”
This is certainly welcome news for the Packers, who will need every advantage they can get against the Chiefs. Reed has been used as more of a gadget player on wide receiver sweeps without Jones, who has a sprained MCL, and third-string running back Emanuel Wilson, who is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
On Sunday Night, the Green Bay Packers should have a healthy wide receiver group.
The Packers will undoubtedly need all the offensive help they can get against the Chiefs, and it appears that they will field a fully healthy wide receiver group, which they were unable to do against the Lions on Thanksgiving.
Aside from the previously mentioned injuries, rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to play on Sunday. This means that Reed, Wicks, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs will all be available for the game. This season, all four have more than 300 yards receiving.
