Sunday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills was one of the most entertaining of the 2023 season, and it drew another large crowd for arguably the NFL’s best team.

According to Front Office Sports’ Doug Greenberg, the Week 12 thriller received a 15.2 rating and averaged 30.9 million viewers, making it the highest-rated game of the season and the third most watched game behind the first two Thanksgiving Day games.

The Bills-Eagles game was CBS’s most watched national game window since 2007, when a game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts drew 33.82 million viewers.

The Eagles, who have seen an increase in viewership this season, defeated Josh Allen and the Bills, 37-34, in overtime when quarterback Jalen Hurts ran 12 yards for the game-winning touchdown.

The Eagles’ loss to the New York Jets earlier this season drew 26.09 million viewers. The Eagles’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys in November drew 27.14 million viewers.

The Bills-Eagles game could be surpassed.
Hurts and the Eagles, who won the Super Bowl last year, have dominated with a league-best 10-1 record and are well-positioned to clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

With marquee matchups over the next two weeks, the Eagles’ viewership could surpass the Bills-Eagles game.

At 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, they will face the San Francisco 49ers in an NFC championship rematch. The Eagles and Cowboys will meet the following week on Sunday night in Dallas.
