Fulham are reportedly planning an aggressive January swoop for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, leaving West Ham United out.
Broja is a Chelsea academy product who made his senior debut for the Blues in March 2020. He was loaned out to former Premier League club Southampton in August 2021 to gain more first-team experience.
Broja made an immediate impact at St Mary’s, leading Southampton’s forward line for the majority of the season and scoring nine goals in 38 appearances.
The 22-year-old was hoping to make an impact when he returned to Chelsea the following season, but he suffered an ACL injury in December last year and was forced to miss the rest of the season.
Broja is back in action and has made six appearances this season, scoring once and assisting once. Mauricio Pochettino thinks highly of him, and the Albania international will be hoping to replace Nicolas Jackson in the Chelsea starting lineup.
Broja may face a new challenge for playing time in the near future, as Chelsea prioritize the signing of Napoli center-forward Victor Osimhen in January.

The possibility of Osimhen’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has rekindled interest in Broja’s services. TEAMtalk exclusively revealed on November 21 that West Ham has added him to their shortlist as they look to bolster their striker ranks.
Fulham, another London club, may beat West Ham to the transfer. Fulham have just joined the hunt for Broja, according to the Daily Mail, with manager Marco Silva deciding on him as a “key January target.”

Fulham would prefer to sign him on a permanent basis, but they are aware that Chelsea would be reluctant to sanction such a move. As a result, a January loan move is very likely.
While Broja adores Chelsea, he would probably jump at the chance to join Fulham and play regularly at Craven Cottage. This would allow him to impress Chelsea management from afar and potentially return as a better player next summer.
Surprisingly, Broja is not the only attacking target for Fulham and West Ham. They’ve both been mentioned as possible suitors for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner. Earlier on Tuesday, it was revealed that Manchester United had made a ‘enquiry’ to sign the Chelsea flop as well.
However, sources close to Werner have confirmed to TEAMtalk that he will not seek a return to England following his disappointing spell at Chelsea.
