Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has been linked with the job of taking over at West Ham United from David Moyes.

This season, West Ham manager David Moyes has been under pressure at times, as has Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper.

However, the Hammers manager has recently turned things around, with three wins in a row across all competitions.

Having said that, there are still large sections of West Ham fans who have grown tired of the football on display under the Scot.

It would not be surprising if a managerial change is made at the end of the season, as has already been widely reported.

If the Scot does leave the London Stadium, getting the right replacement in will be critical. And, according to talkSPORT, David Sullivan may be looking to replace Moyes with a manager from one of our Premier League rivals…

West Ham manager David Moyes could be replaced by Steve Cooper, according to talkSPORT. Cooper is being considered by the Hammers’ owners as a possible replacement for Moyes.

I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand this at all. Sure, give the Scot an upgrade. But, really, Cooper?

This has to be complete nonsense. I’m not dismissing Cooper’s efforts at the City Ground; to be fair, he’s accomplished a lot.

Is he, however, an improvement over Moyes? I don’t believe he is. Forest are currently 15th in the Premier League table, six positions and seven points behind us.

Last season, the Reds finished below the Hammers in the table as well. Cooper, 43, has spent a lot of money as Forest manager, as has Moyes at the London Stadium.

The Scot, on the other hand, has a lot to show for his money. Last season, the 60-year-old became West Ham’s first manager to win a major trophy since 1980.

Sure, his football can be tedious at times, but he’s been by far our most successful manager since the turn of the century, and most likely for some time before that as well.

I believe he deserves more respect than he currently receives, and this is coming from someone who wants a younger, more progressive manager to succeed him at the end of the season.

I do not want Steve Cooper anywhere near West Ham.
