Problems with the doctor Aston Villa vs. Tottenham Hotspur: John McGinn Injury Update

Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. He’ll be giving his thoughts on Aston Villa’s injury situation every week…

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn should be able to overcome the injury scare he suffered while on international duty.

The 29-year-old hobbled off the field in the 3-3 tie between Scotland and Norway, and little was made of his situation.

However, the injury expert believes that he will still have to pass a late fitness test, and if he does not, Unai Emery will be forced to play without him.

Dr Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, told Villa News about his injury: “Sounds like he just suffered a knock and should be in contention for the next match, though there is a minor chance that he’s unavailable as well.”

“In order to reduce risk, Villa will have him go through their standard return to play protocols and see how he responds to training and testing.”

“He will also have a late fitness test ahead of the game given his importance to the team.”

This season, the Scotland international has been Unai Emery’s Swiss Army Knife, and his absence will be felt.

McGinn has recently been used on the left flank, but he has also played as a number 10, striker, right winger, central midfielder, and defensive midfielder.

He has appeared in 12 Premier League games, scoring three times and assisting twice.

He’ll be among the first names on the team sheet whenever he’s fit, and all eyes will be on the starting eleven an hour before kickoff.

Tyrone Mings, Emi Buendia, and Bertrand Traore are already out, and Emery would prefer not to have another first-team absence.
