Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes is in attendance at Michigan Stadium for today’s highly anticipated game between Michigan and Ohio State. Holmes, who is in his third season as the Lions’ general manager, has a background in college scouting. He was the Los Angeles Rams’ Director of College Scouting from 2013 to 2021, when he left to become the Lions’ general manager. Both teams are undefeated, and the winner will play in the Big 10 championship game. The loser will be on the outside looking in and will almost certainly miss the College Football Playoff.

College football: Can anybody in the Big Ten derail the Michigan-Ohio State collision course?

The Game, as it’s known, is one of the biggest rivalries with Michigan ties each year. It’s the second year in a row that both teams enter the game undefeated.

Michigan will be without head coach Jim Harbaugh, who is serving the final game of a three-game suspension. As both teams have a plethora of likely NFL Draft picks, Holmes could be in attendance to evaluate a number of prospects. Among them is Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who is expected to be a top-5 pick in the April Draft. Edge rusher J.T. Tuimoloau and linebacker Tommy Eichenberg also play for the Buckeyes. On the Michigan side, quarterback J.J. McCarthy is regarded as one of the Draft’s second-tier passers. The Lions may also be interested in running back Blake Corum and defensive tackle Kris Jenkins.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes have wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, cornerback Denzel Burke, running back TreVeyon Henderson, and edge rusher Jack Sawyer on their roster.
