Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh has already been suspended for three games due to the sign-stealing scandal. But his ordeal may not be over. During a recent appearance on The Herd, former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer stated that based on what he’s heard, Harbaugh may not even coach in 2024.
“I’ve heard it is deep-deep, and then I’ve heard it’s not that deep, where it’s just a rogue guy doing it, which is kinda hard for me to believe that just some guy’s out there talking to your coordinators and nobody’s aware what he did” Meyer said in an interview with FOX Sports. “So I’d like to wait and see what the depth [of it] is.” If it’s as serious as I’m hearing, there’s a chance he won’t be coaching there next season.”
Harbaugh’s inability to coach the Wolverines for the entire 2024 college football season must be unsettling for Michigan football fans, but his players have used his ongoing suspension as motivation on the field.
Meyers’ comments came just days before a big game between Michigan football and the Ohio State Buckeyes in Ann Arbor on Saturday. The Wolverines and Buckeyes are essentially competing for the right to represent their conference in the Big Ten championship game. More importantly, a spot in the College Football Playoff is on the line, with a loss for either Michigan or Ohio State likely ending their CFP title hopes this season.
