  • Deion Sanders confidently mixed up Mount Rushmore and the Hollywood sign
  • Sanders laughed at himself for not knowing the location of the monument

During a press conference on Tuesday, Colorado’s infamous head football coach Deion Sanders mistook Mount Rushmore for Mount Rushmore in California.

Sanders appears to have confused the American monument of four presidents with the Hollywood sign, which is located in Los Angeles.

‘What are those four little heads in California, what do they call them, the people’s faces engraved?’ Sanders joked, only to be corrected that Mount Rushmore is not on the West Coast.

“Where is it?” ‘All this time I thought it was in LA,’ Sanders continued. ‘Wow, my geography… I appreciate you educating me.’

Sanders attempted to use the reference to describe how high his expectations are for his players, making a gesture to demonstrate how high they are.

The Buffaloes’ season hasn’t gone as planned, as they won their first three games but have only won one of their last eight.

Colorado’s season concludes on Saturday with a game at Utah.

The game will be Colorado’s last as a Pac-12 member before returning to the Big 12 in 2024.

Sanders, who is still in his first season in Boulder, will be given more opportunities to revitalize the Buffaloes’ program.

Sanders may be a football expert, but American geography has not been his strong suit.
