Even though they didn’t play their best football on Sunday, the Detroit Lions defeated the Chicago Bears. Barry Sanders had a strong response.
After retiring from the Detroit Lions in 1999, Barry Sanders has established himself as a mainstay in the Metro Detroit area. He can be seen at Ford Field during Lions games and in several radio and television commercials.
Sanders was the all-time leading rusher in the NFL when he retired, but Emmitt Smith of the Dallas Cowboys, who was his main opponent as a running back during his playing career, eventually overtook him. NFL MVP candidate and quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff, may have had his worst half of the season on Saturday against the Chicago Bears, while Justin Fields amassed a ton of passing and rushing yards.
Goff composed himself just in time for the last drive, which culminated in a game-winning touchdown drive that was highlighted by a David Montgomery touchdown late in the contest. Goff then threw a two-point conversion to tight end Sam LaPorta.
NFL fans should be riveted to their screens on Thursday as the Lions take on Jordan Love and the rival Packers in a Thanksgiving Day matchup. Goff was completely open about his difficult performance versus the Bears and the reasons he wasn’t able to play at his highest level.
In a game that left Lions supporters perspiring for much of the day, the Bears defeated the Lions 31–26 on Sunday.
Before the Packers and Lions battle for control of the NFC North on Thursday, Sanders offered his opinions on the “dangerous” Lions squad.
In response, a fan raised doubts about Sanders’ optimism for the squad by stating that the Lions just managed to escape the Bears.
Despite the fact that the Bears appeared to have the advantage over the Lions for the majority of the game, the Lions were still able to outgain Fields and the Bears, finishing with a final total of 338 yards to 334.
