The Buffalo Bills appear to have removed Damar Hamlin’s number from the back of the team ambulance. The No. 3 decals that had been prominently displayed on the windows earlier in the season had vanished by Sunday.

Damen Harris suffered a frightening injury against the New York Giants in Week 6. In the ambulance, he left the game on a backboard. Fortunately, the 26-year-old running back has since returned to the field.

The NFL world took notice of an unusual tribute to Damar Hamlin as Harris exited the field on Oct. 15. His phone number was “hanging in the rafters” on the back of the ambulance.

The decision to put Hamlin’s phone number and name on the ambulance caused some controversy. There were some people, including the team, who thought it was a cool way to honor his resilience. Others thought it was strange.

After collapsing on the field during Monday Night Football last season, Hamlin was diagnosed with commotio cordis. It was a terrifying moment that shook the entire world, even beyond the football community. He will be named comeback player of the year in 2023, and he deserves it.

Hamlin’s incident, on the other hand, occurred in Cincinnati. It felt strange paying tribute to him on the team ambulance in upstate New York. Especially since he was on the bench.

The Buffalo Bills had to be aware of the backlash.

Damar Hamlin’s number has been removed from the Buffalo Bills ambulance.
During the second quarter of Sunday’s CBS game, safety Taylor Rapp made an unusual tackle on Jets running back Breece Hall. He stumbled and fell to the ground next to the sideline after initially walking away from the collision before rolling over and presenting with a fencing response.

With a neck injury, Rapp was able to move his hands as he was taken off the field at Highmark Stadium in an ambulance. He never went to the hospital, according to the broadcast. After the game, head coach Sean McDermott stated that he believed Rapp was at home, which is fantastic.

CBS cameras captured Rapp being loaded onto a backboard and loaded into the ambulance. On November 19, the windows looked different than they did (just over) one month before.

Hamlin’s phone number and name are no longer listed.

The windows are simply that: windows.

According to all accounts, it is the same ambulance.

Damar Hamlin’s name and phone number are no longer visible through the windows.
