Dan James, Ethan Ampadu, and Joe Rodon are all eager to help Wales qualify for Euro 2024.

While on international duty with Wales, Leeds United’s Ethan Ampadu, Dan James, and Joe Rodon are preparing for two must-win games. The trio have all left Daniel Farke’s Whites camp this week to join their national team, and the pressure is on as Wales’ Euro 2024 qualifying campaign comes to a close.

Rob Page’s team currently holds the final qualification spot in Group D, after Turkey secured their spot in next summer’s tournament last month. However, they are aware that only two wins over the next few days against Armenia and Turkey will be enough to secure their place in the tournament.

The Welsh are aware that their fate is in their own hands, but they are also aware that anything less than six points could allow Croatia to take the final available qualification spot. Both teams have accumulated 10 points, but Wales currently leads on head-to-head points after defeating Croatia in Cardiff last month.

The World Cup semi-finalists face Armenia and Latvia over the next two days, and they are expected to win both games, increasing the pressure on Wales. Welsh eyes will be on Yerevan this afternoon as the Dragons take on Armenia, with all three Leeds representatives expected to play some role.

Ampadu, James, and Rodon have all been in excellent form for Leeds in recent months, and Page will be hoping that confidence carries over to the international stage. The visit of Turkey on Tuesday night concludes Wales’ campaign, and with a packed Cardiff City Stadium in support, confidence should be high going into what could be another memorable night for Welsh football.

Charlie Cresswell is another player who will be vying for a spot on the international stage today. The defender has struggled for game time with Leeds this season, but he’s been a regular in the England U21s set-up and will be eager to play a role as England face Serbia in Backa Topola.

The young Lions, who thrashed Serbia 9-1 in October, will be hoping for three more points, and after losing to Ukraine in their first Euro 2025 qualifying match, they have some ground to make up.
