Two men have been charged with multiple offenses in connection with an attack in the city center that left one man hospitalized. Following the late-night attack on Brazil Street, officers were involved in a chase.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Monday (November 13), when police responded to reports of a man being attacked by a group on Brazil Street in the city center. The victim, a man in his twenties, had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. According to police, his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Officers attempted to stop a number of vehicles suspected of being involved in the attack as part of the police response. Officers pursued two vehicles, a Mini Cooper and a Skoda Roomster.

Following the two chases, two men were apprehended, with the first involving the Mini coming to a halt in Norman Street. The second ended when the Roomster collided with another vehicle in Church Gate. The police department said in an update that the two men had been charged.
Ardian Vladi, of no fixed address, was charged with dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, according to Leicestershire Police. The 23-year-old was also charged with failing to stop when directed by a police officer and driving on a public road without third-party insurance.
Erion Nexhi, of Moorside End in Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, was also charged. The 33-year-old was charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license, failing to stop when directed by a police officer, and operating a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 and reference 23*703771.
