Newcastle United’s name has appeared alongside that of Barcelona winger Raphinha once more.
The former Leeds United winger moved to Barcelona in 2022 for around £55 million, and rumors of his dissatisfaction have circulated despite the fact that it was his dream move.
Raphinha has been in and out of the Barcelona team and has yet to secure a regular starting spot, and as a result, SPORT reports that Barcelona may now be willing to sell.
Raphinha has been on Newcastle’s radar for some time.
This has tipped off Newcastle, who have previously been linked with the Brazilian, as well as Chelsea, who are interested in anyone who has ever put on a pair of football boots and called themselves a midfielder.
Barcelona will consider Raphinha’s future in the summer, giving him time to turn things around in Spain before making a decision, according to SPORT.
Newcastle desperately needs another high-quality right winger to compete with Miguel Almiron, and having someone of Raphinha’s caliber would be fantastic.
Could Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips reunite at Newcastle?
Raphinha was once described as ‘unbelievable’ by Kalvin Phillips, who is linked with a January move to Newcastle, and Leeds United fans will never forget him.
His form in his final season at Leeds almost single-handedly kept them in the Premier League, so we know he has what it takes, even if he can’t quite find his feet in La Liga.
As long as Barcelona does not demand ridiculous fees for him in the summer, Newcastle should be all over this move, and beating Chelsea to his signature would be a huge statement by the club.
