Following Saturday’s 2-0 loss at AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi issued a unifying message.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi was unable to attend Newcastle United’s defeat at the Vitality Stadium, but he took to social media to express his disappointment.

The Magpies suffered their first Premier League defeat in eight games thanks to Dominic Solanke’s second-half brace.

The Magpies enter the international break on the heels of two consecutive 2-0 losses, including a Champions League defeat at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening. Despite the injury concerns, Newcastle’s season has been a positive one so far.

Howe’s side has reached the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and is still in with a chance of progressing out of their Champions League group.

However, Newcastle’s defeat at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday has dropped them to seventh in the table, and they could drop to eighth by the end of the weekend, with Brighton & Hove Albion hosting Sheffield United on Sunday.
