Howe makes no excuses for Newcastle’s poor and lackluster performance.

One thing Newcastle fans dislike is when the Newcastle manager makes excuses after we lose a game.

When I think of that, I think of Steve Bruce – sorry, Steve.

But Eddie Howe never looks for excuses in difficult times, instead turning inward when Newcastle fails to deliver, as was the case yesterday at the Vitality Stadium against Howe’s former club, Bournemouth.

We were hoping for a win to kick off the international break, but the Cherries won for the second time in 12 games and deserved it.

And if it hadn’t been for goalkeeper Nick Pope’s numerous saves, the victory could have been far more humiliating.

When a person is going through a difficult time, their character shines through, and Eddie Howe stated that he was not going to sit during the post-match interview and make excuses – good for him.

Eddie Howe also stated the following:

“I wholeheartedly support the players for everything they’ve given during this game.” Today’s game was simply too difficult for us.”

“It was just a game that got out of hand, and we couldn’t respond.” Bournemouth performed admirably, but we fell far short.”

“It was a difficult afternoon.” We weren’t in or out of possession of anything. It will be a difficult day if you can’t do that at this level.”

“We usually respond better when we are tired and stretched.” We must pick ourselves up and fight again.”

Solanke scored both goals for the Cherries, and it was their second league win in three games, indicating that manager Andoni Iraola is making an impact after a shaky start to the season.

We’re all aware that our team has a lot of injuries, and Almiron had to leave the game yesterday due to a hamstring strain.

You couldn’t make this stuff up!

And there appears to be no relief in sight until the transfer window opens in January.

We can only hope that players like Alexander Isak will be able to return after the break, as most injuries are long-term.

Newcastle will face difficult times until the end of the year, and they will require all of our assistance.
