Leeds United face a decision once more, with Willy Gnonto reportedly wanting to leave the club in order to cement his place in Italy’s squad for Euro 2024.

The Whites will be hoping to keep their squad largely intact when the January transfer window opens in less than two months, but they have a number of players who could be targeted.

Willy Gnonto’s future was bound to be brought back into the spotlight after what happened in August, and he’s sure to be a target for a number of clubs.

Willy Gnonto, according to Football Insider, is fed up with his current lack of game time at the club and wants to secure a transfer in order to keep his place in the Italy squad.

Italy hopes to qualify for the European Championships next summer, where Gnonto will compete in his first major tournament.

Gnonto, on the other hand, has since responded to the report on social media, laughing:

Farke faces a significant decision.
Leeds and Farke face a major decision, just as they did in August, even if Gnonto isn’t forcing his way out as he appears to be doing now.

Gnonto’s future will inevitably be up in the air, whether he has his head down and is assisting the side to promotion or is pushing for a move behind the scenes.

Everton offered £25 million for the Italian in August, but the Whites refused to budge, as evidenced by their statement.

Since then, he hasn’t been able to consistently light up the Championship, which hasn’t been helped by injury and the August chaos, with Dan James taking his starting spot to good effect recently.

If the above offer is increased to north of £30 million (or higher), Leeds will have a lot of money to play with in terms of strengthening multiple positions.

There isn’t much that needs to be done to this Leeds team, but an attacking midfielder could help Farke, and that kind of money makes it possible.

Get Gnonto back up to speed, on the other hand, and he’ll help Summerville tear this league to shreds.

Farke is in a difficult situation, but it wouldn’t be surprising after the summer, even with the youngster shrugging it off.
