The former Leeds United midfielder could thrive at St. James’ Park and help the club challenge for the Premier League title.

Weekly earnings of £150,000, according to reports Manchester City player prefers a move to Newcastle United

Kalvin Phillips, a Manchester City defensive midfielder, prefers Newcastle United over Juventus.

According to CM, Newcastle and Juventus are interested in City and England international midfielder Phillips.

So, what’s the latest on Manchester City, Kalvin Phillips, and Newcastle United?

Let us investigate.

What is the backstory?

According to CM, Newcastle United and Juventus are interested in signing Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips during the January transfer window.

According to the Italian news outlet, Phillips prefers a move to Newcastle to a move to Juventus.

Phillips has struggled to make an impact at City and is now a supporting player.

Interestingly, another report this week from Italy claimed that Phillips had said ‘yes’ to a loan move to Juventus.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Cup last season, are also willing to loan the midfielder to Juve.

Kalvin Phillips should not be sent to Newcastle United by Manchester City.

Manchester City should not, in my opinion, let Kalvin Phillips leave for Newcastle United on loan during the January transfer window.

Although I do not expect Newcastle to compete for the Premier League title this season, the Magpies may do so in the future.

If Phillips performs well at Newcastle in the second half of the season, the Magpies may decide to make the (potential) loan deal permanent.

The former Leeds United midfielder could thrive at St. James’ Park and help the club challenge for the Premier League title.

That simply cannot happen in the city.

Consider what has occurred at Arsenal.

Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, and Mikel Arteta’s team is now vying for the Premier League title.
