Leicester City has issued a warning about a ‘false’ situation.

LeicestershireLive brings you the latest Leicester City news, as former player Matt Piper looks ahead to the Middlesbrough match following the defeat to Leeds United.

Following their defeat to Leeds United, Leicester City face another “tough test” against Middlesbrough, according to former Foxes player Matt Piper.

Enzo Maresca’s Foxes face Michael Carrick’s Boro in the Championship on Saturday at the Riverside Stadium, after losing 1-0 to Leeds at the King Power Stadium last time out.

It was only City’s second league defeat of the season – in 15 games – and they remain three points clear at the top of the table, 11 points ahead of Leeds. Piper, on the other hand, has warned his former club that Middlesbrough will be a major test of their promotion credentials.

“We haven’t lost two games in a row, so the first time that happens, it will shake the confidence we built up at the start of the season.” “I believe Middlesbrough are currently 12th, but that is a bit of a false position,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.

“They thrashed Watford, Southampton, Sunderland, and Norwich.” Middlesbrough are a good team, and he (Carrick) got them into the play-offs last season.

“They had a stuttering start to the season, but in the last six to seven games, they’ve really started to pick up some impressive wins, so it’ll be a tough one.”

“It will be a tough test, as I believe this is the first time we are sort of playing back-to-back games against two top sides in contention to go back up into the Premier League.”
