“Something is wrong…” – Pundit claims Leeds United transfer

Frank McAvennie believes Leeds United may come to regret not selling Wilfried Gnonto during the summer.

Wilfried Gnonto’s future at Leeds United is unknown following the summer’s significant transfer interest and his poor performances this season.
Former striker Frank McAvennie feels Gnonto has a problem, which he attributes to injuries or outside influences.
Leeds will take a firm stand in January, but if Gnonto wishes to leave, it may be wise to sell him for a fair price in order to avoid another distracting drama.

Wilfried Gnonto’s future in Leeds is questionable.

Everton and a slew of Serie A clubs were among those keeping a close eye on the Italian international during the summer transfer window.

Despite Gnonto submitting a transfer request in an attempt to force a move, Leeds were able to keep hold of the 20-year-old, and manager Daniel Farke was able to reintegrate the player into the group.

Despite being a tremendous talent, Gnonto hasn’t been at his best this season, therefore he hasn’t always been in the XI.

As a result, it’s maybe not surprising that there’s speculation of the forward leaving in January, and it’s been stated he’d like to do so.

Former Scotland and West Ham striker McAvennie told Football Insider that he doesn’t think everything is well with Gnonto right now.

“Obviously, something has occurred. There has been an issue with the boy. Whether it’s a problem with his injuries or who’s looking after him.

“When some players are valued at £30 million, they believe they are better players than they are, especially when they are young.” They don’t seem to grasp that you have to do it every week to be that player.

“I’m not sure what’s going on with the boy. If they could have sold him for £30 million after the Everton bid, I would have taken it. He’s gone from top to bottom in a very short period of time, so something is amiss, whether it’s the management or whatever is feeding his head with garbage.
