Newcastle want to sign a £20 million Everton player who is speedier than Anthony Gordon.

Newcastle United have an absolute speedster in Anthony Gordon, but they may try to add a player who is even faster than the 22-year-old in the near future.

Gordon is currently one of the Premier League’s fastest players. In fact, on the first weekend of the new season, the Newcastle winger was the fastest player in the entire division.

His performances have been sensational as of late, boasting four goals and two assists for the Magpies this season. He is proving to be a revelation since his big money move from Everton at the start of the year, and now Newcastle are showing an interest in one of his former teammates from Goodison Park.

Newcastle United are interested in Ben Godfrey.

Newcastle are interested in signing Everton’s Ben Godfrey, according to 90min. Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Rangers are reportedly said to be interested.

Everton are willing to listen to offers for the centre-back in January, according to 90min, with Newcastle named as long-term fans of the former Norwich City defender.

During the summer transfer window, the Magpies attempted but failed to sign a center-back. As a result of Sven Botman’s knee injury, Jamaal Lascelles has had an extended run in the side.

Newcastle, on the other hand, will still be looking for defensive reinforcements in 2024, and a move for Godfrey would provide Eddie Howe with the pace he is currently lacking at the back.

Everton’s defense is quicker than Anthony Gordon Godfrey,

who joined Everton for £20 million in 2020, is well-known for his incredible pace. It is one of his most valuable qualities as a defender, and he may even outrun Anthony Gordon in a sprint.

That comes directly from Gordon, who mentioned Godfrey’s pace while he was still an Everton player.

Gordon addressed the Toffees’ official YouTube channel in a video about the fastest player at Everton: “I think Ben [Godfrey] beats us all.”

Eddie Howe will find the 25-year-old very enticing because of his quickness, which his current center-backs really lack.

Toon supporters would be surprised by a move for Godfrey, though, considering he hasn’t played much for Everton this year. How is he going to make an impact in a Newcastle squad that aspires to play regularly in the Champions League if he can barely manage one minute for a struggling Toffees outfit?
