Leeds United, Sunderland, and Everton will ‘fight’ for an EFL star, as rivals confirm new boss.

All the latest transfer rumours and news from Leeds United and the Championship.

Leeds United prepare to play Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road this weekend, looking to build on last week’s spectacular success over league leaders Leicester City. The Whites defeated the Foxes 1-0 at King Power Stadium, giving them five wins in their previous six Championship games.

First-placed Leicester City and second-placed Ipswich Town have both had great beginnings to the season, but Leeds have already won both games away from home as they seek a quick return to the Premier League. Leeds look more relaxed under Daniel Farke after an uneven start, but they will be hoping that at least one of the teams above them fails to continue their excellent levels of performance so far as they try to close the gap on the automatic promotion slots.

Following their home game against Plymouth on Saturday, there will be a pause from action as international ties take precedence. Following the end of the international break, December and January are hectic months. We’ve compiled the most recent transfer rumors involving Leeds United and its Championship rivals ahead of the weekend’s encounter.

A large list of Premier League and Championship clubs are lining up to sign Barnsley teenager Fabio Jalo in January. Sunderland, Leeds United, Brighton, Everton, and Fulham are among the clubs interested, according to TEAMtalk. Jalo joined Barnlsey at the age of 16 last summer and scored his first goal for the club in Friday’s FA Cup tie against Horsham, having made his debut earlier this season. The 17-year-old has only made four appearances for the League One team this season, but he has showed enough promise to pique the interest of some of the country’s biggest clubs.

Bristol City confirm Liam Manning manager appointment | The Northern Echo

Bristol City have signed Liam Manning to a three-and-a-half-year contract to replace Nigel Pearson. Manning left Oxford United in League One to take up the post at the Whites’ Championship opponents.

“Liam is a great fit for the club and the style of play that we want,” stated Bristol City chairman Jon Lansdown. “As his record at MK Dons and Oxford United shows, he has a very detailed approach to coaching, improving players, and getting the best out of them, while he has valuable experience within the (Manchester) City Group and in Belgium.” As soon as we made the decision, Liam was our first choice, and we are grateful to Oxford United for handling the departure of someone who was doing an excellent job for them.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity, and one that I’m really looking forward to,” Manning continued. When I look at the club’s vision and where they want to go and how they want to get there, I see a really excellent fit and alignment with my journey and where I want to go. We are guardians, and you must respect and appreciate the history and culture of the location to which you have relocated, as well as leave the club in a better condition.”
