According to Football Insider, Leeds United will trade Wilfried Gnonto in January if the proper offer is received.

Leeds United have had a good start to the season, with Daniel Farke’s side now sitting third in the Championship table after 15 games.

The Whites boast one of the league’s most dangerous front lines, with names like Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe shooting, but Gnonto hasn’t played much this season.

The Italian has made nine appearances in the Championship, most of which were as substitutes, and has only one goal and one assist to his name.

Leeds United's Wilfried Gnonto may cost Lazio too much

Yesterday, Football Insider revealed that he is dissatisfied with his current status at Elland Road, and now the same publication is reporting that Leeds could let him depart in January if a fair offer is received.

Everton attempted and failed to sign the 20-year-old in the summer, with sources claiming that Leeds were holding out for £25 million.

Gnonto arrived from FC Zurich in 2022 and appeared in 24 Premier League games last season, scoring twice.

When is the best time to sell?

Given Gnonto’s lack of influence this season, it might have been better to trade him in the summer while his stock was greater.

Leeds may not be able to get as much for him in January as they could have in the summer, so it remains to be seen how highly the club values him now.

There will undoubtedly be clubs interested in him, but whether they are Premier League clubs or teams from abroad is debatable; he hasn’t showed much quality in the Championship so far this season.
