Leeds United have been linked with a January transfer for Fluminense forward and Colombian international Jhon Arias.

As November approaches, the Whites will already have one eye on the January transfer market, with Gretar Steinsson working hard to put Leeds in the best possible position to challenge for promotion in the second half of the season.

Leeds’ gap to the top two needs to be closed, and acquisitions in the new year might be just what Daniel Farke’s team needs.

Leeds has been associated to who?

TEAMtalk claimed this week that Leeds are one of several British clubs scouting Colombian international Jhon Arias, who is now playing for Fluminense.

The 26-year-old has been in superb form for club and country in 2023, registering nine goals and 13 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions for the Brazilian outfit.

Rangers, Leicester City, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Burnley, and West Ham are among the clubs interested in signing the offensive midfielder.

The question is whether Leeds will act on this scouting mission, but the interest in an offensive midfielder who can also play on the wing is something Leeds should consider.

It was one of the few major concerns that didn’t get handled during the summer window, as the club decided against bringing in Nadiem Amiri for the proper reasons.

While Joel Piroe is an undeniable goal threat, games this season have shown that he may not be the ideal option to operate behind Georginio Rutter in every game, hence someone more suited to the role is required.

It would be a real statement of purpose for Leeds to bring in a full-fledged international in the position while also beating Leicester and other major competition.
