One Aston Villa player appears to be nearing the end of his time at Villa Park.

As Unai Emery and Monchi work to restore the fortunes of the Midlands-based club, there will be players who, no matter how hard they try, simply do not figure in the manager’s plans.

It’s a difficult lesson for many to learn, but there comes a time when resistance is pointless and moving on is essential for the player’s sanity as well as his career.

Leander Dendoncker has seen little action under Emery.

Aston Villa expert tips Dendoncker to quit within days amid 'greedy' verdict

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old Belgian has played 46 minutes in the Carabao Cup and three minutes in three Premier League matches, indicating that it’s time to call it quits.

According to Football Insider, Villa are now willing to listen to bids for Dendoncker in the January transfer window.

Given that he was on the point of joining Fenerbahce in the summer only to have the move fall through, a switch appears to be more than plausible.

It’s unclear how big any transfer price would be, but there’s little use in Villa having the player on reserve and playing his salary when both the club’s and Dendoncker’s interests would be better served if he left.
