Former NBA All-Star looks stupid after mocking Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
The Dallas Mavericks opened their season with a win over the San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama on Wednesday night.
Despite all of the hoopla surrounding Wembanyama, the Mavericks started the season 1-0 on the road.
Luka Doncic had an outstanding game, finishing with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Despite his triple-double in the first game, Doncic outperformed himself in Dallas’ triumph against Brooklyn on Friday night.

Doncic finished with 49 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists on 9-14 shooting from three-point range. He also hit a nearly impossible circus shot late in the game to give the Mavericks a three-point lead with less than 30 seconds left.
Despite constantly being one of the top players in the NBA, his detractors appear to be emerging just as the season begins. The media has been skeptical of the Mavericks’ chances of success, but this statement from a former NBA All-Star elevates the Luka hatred to a new level.
Kenyon Martin appeared on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast “Gil’s Arena” and discussed the Mavericks, Luka and Kyrie Irving.
“In my opinion, I don’t think he’s the best player on his basketball team,” stated Martin. “In a 1v1 situation, if you give Kyrie the ball first, Luka will not touch it.” Luka is incapable of guarding this (expletive) camera stand.”
Martin has something against Luka and uses this phrase to mock his defense and general abilities. Doncic has proven (even if it was evident before) that he is the top dog in Dallas after carrying the team to two clutch victories in two games.
Irving has struggled to start the season, averaging only 19.5 points per game on 39.0 percent shooting. Despite Irving’s slow start, supporters should not be concerned because he is positively impacting the game despite his lower shooting stats.
With Doncic’s hot start, Kenyon Martin is likely to eat his comments, as Doncic appears to be the leader for MVP after two games. He’s performing at an exceptional level, and his defense has improved when he’s focused.
Stay tuned for the latest on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks this season.
