Unai Emery, head coach of Aston Villa, was pleased with his team’s “maturity” after a 4-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion.

Villa now lead Group E after their win, thanks to goals from Leon Bailey, Youri Tielemans, Olly Watkins, and John McGinn. With the Dutch now four goals behind, Ibrahim Sadiq scored a consolation goal for AZ.

“We are respecting them because they played in the semi-final last year against West Ham,” he remarked. “They won against Lazio last year, they won against Anderlecht last year, and it’s because they have experience in European competitions.”

“It’s also very important for us that they win a lot of games in their league and in Europe.” In this competition, they are completely concentrated.
