Leicester City may be without two wingers for this week’s Championship match against Sunderland.
The Foxes will face the Black Cats at King Power Stadium on Tuesday, with the Foxes having won 11 of their first 12 Championship games this season.
Leicester City triumphed 3-1 against Swansea City in Wales on Saturday, extending their five-point advantage at the top of the table.
However, against the Swans, Turkish winger Yunus Akgun limped off with a leg injury, however Foxes manager Enzo Maresca expects he will be okay for the match against Sunderland.
Akgun came on as a replacement in the 65th minute but left the field during injury time toward the end of the game, clutching his thigh.
“I just asked him, and he didn’t feel anything important,” Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson stated during his post-match press conference. “It was just something, but nothing major, so hopefully he won’t miss any games or days.” We shall see.”
Leicester City are already without Kasey McAteer, who sustained a hamstring injury a few weeks ago against Blackburn Rovers.
The 21-year-old forward is allegedly making improvement but has yet to train with Leicester City’s first squad, potentially leaving Maresca two wingers short against Sunderland if Akgun is ruled out.
The Foxes, on the other hand, have Stephy Mavididi, Abdul Fatawu, and Premier League and FA Cup champion Marc Albrighton at their disposal.
